BEVILONGA 2013

After a long while we are back writing in english.

This post is about Bevilonga, the drinking-orienteering race that has been held last Saturday in primiero.

We are writing it in English because for the first time bevilonga hosted some top international runners.

The competition arena has been moved down to the valley because of the snow, this was quite a problem for the organising committee but thanks to the invaluable help of Marco Bezzi aka “ZP” (the course setter) everything went as expected!

The race consist in 4 loops plus a fifth one just for the first 15 runners. The particularity of this race is the high number of (mandatory) refreshments on the course, about one each 2.3 controls!

The race started at 6:30 pm and every runner had some problems understanding the map right after the start, everyone except Mate Kerenyi who opened up a gap between him and the others.

Zsolt Lenkei secured the second place until the 4th loop when he decided to have an extra loop just for the fun of it!

That move allowed Stefano Cristellon, Piero Turra, Giancarlo Simion and Øystein Kvaal Østerbø to catch him up before the last loop.

There were a thrilling final battle for the second place and Zsolt won it ahead of Stefano Cristellon aka “the bomb”.

It is not entirely clear who came 4th, 5th and 6th but should be the ones listed above in some order. In general we are not completly sure of what appened during the race that’s why we will be more than happy if you tell us something by comment.

In the women class Mary Crippa took the victory.

Dinner and prize giving ceremony were held at the restaurant. The winners were presented with chocolate money and the famous skodeg-o hat.

Everything went on smoothly.

We hope everyone enjoyed the night and we are looking for meeting you all next year!

5DAYS OF DOLOMITES ENTRIES OPENED

The 5Days of Dolomites entry system is now on-line.

Welcome to Primiero the beautiful valley where the skodegs run!

O-MARATHON 2008

A new kind of race will shake the italian summer this year. That’s the O-Marathon.

An ultralong orienteering race in Lavarone,  hold on the same maps of the last year’s 5 days of Fortresses, but this time is one race on 3 maps instead of 5 races on 3 maps. Money prizes to the winner.

It’s a race similar to Blodslitet and skodeg-o team will compete there.

GREAT SPRINT FOR ANDREA SEPPI AT JWOC!

Andrea Seppi get an amazing 5th place at JWOC in sprint distance, just 7 seconds behind the bronze medal. Gold for Stepan Kodeda.

Here’s the unofficial top 6.

1.Stepan Kodeda Czech Republic 13:21 +00:00

2.Johan Runesson Sweden 13:22 +00:01

3.Sören Bobach Denmark 13:28 +00:07

4.Matthias Kyburz Switzerland 13:34 +00:13

5.Andrea Seppi Italy 13:35 +00:14

6.Artem Panchenko Ukraina 13:42 +00:21

Andrea’s is the best italian result ever. Better than the 9th place in Middle by Jonas Rass last year and even better that the 6th of Michele Tavernaro at WOC’s long distance in Japan!

Jonas Rass, finished 52nd. Seems not a good results for him but everyone knows that middle distance is more sweet for him!
